Healthy Food

Why Is Eating Healthy Important?

• A nutritious, well-balanced diet – along with physical activity and
refraining from smoking – is the foundation of good health. Healthy
eating includes consuming high-quality proteins, carbohydrates,
heart-healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and water in the foods you
take in while minimizing processed foods, saturated fats and
alcohol. Eating in this manner helps you maintain your body’s
everyday functions, promotes optimal body weight and can assist in
disease prevention.
Why Is Eating Healthy Beneficial?

• Whether your goal is to look amazing in a

swimsuit or be able to keep up with your kids,
healthy eating helps you get there. A diet based
on healthful, minimally processed foods --
including vegetables, fruits, whole grains and
lean proteins -- provides you with the vitamins,
minerals, fiber and other nutrients your body
needs to function. When you eat healthy, you'll
not only look and feel your best, you'll be on the
road to long-term health.
And now I would like to show you information
about some fruits
The Apple
• An apple is a sweet, edible fruit produced by an apple
tree. Apple trees are cultivated worldwide and are the
most widely grown species in the genus Malus. The tree
originated in Central Asia, where its wild ancestor, Malus
sieversii, is still found today.
• A raw apple is 86% water and 14% carbohydrates, with
negligible content of fat and protein (table). A reference
serving of a raw apple with skin weighing 100 grams
provides 52 calories and a moderate content of dietary
fiber. Otherwise, there is low content of
all micronutrients (table).
The Orange
• The orange is the fruit of
the citrus species Citrus × sinensis in
the family Rutaceae, native to China. It is also
called sweet orange, to distinguish it from the
related Citrus × aurantium, referred to as bitter orange.
The sweet orange reproduces asexually
(apomixis through nucellar embryony); varieties of sweet
orange arise through mutations.
• In 2017, 73 million tonnes of oranges were grown
worldwide, with Brazil producing 24% of the world total,
followed by China and India.
The Banana
• A banana is an edible fruit – botanically a berry –
produced by several kinds of large herbaceous flowering
plants in the genus Musa. In some countries, bananas
used for cooking may be called "plantains",
distinguishing them from dessert bananas. The fruit is
variable in size, color, and firmness, but is usually
elongated and curved, with soft flesh rich
in starch covered with a rind, which may be green,
yellow, red, purple, or brown when ripe.
