Scenario #1
You are in math class and about to write an
exam. You glance at your phone (which you
need to put away before the exam) and it is a
message from your best friend. It says that she
does not want to live anymore and will kill
herself. She says she in a nearby bathroom.
The teacher tells the class to put their phones
away. What do you do?
Scenario #2
You are at home; it is 2am. Your parents
are asleep. You are not supposed to have
your phone at night, but you do. A friend
is messaging you. He is really upset and
is talking about a suicide plan. He
suddenly stops texting. What do you do?
Scenario #3
Your good friend Paul is self-harming (he is
cutting). He has been doing it for a while.
He is not suicidal, but he has told you before
that his home life is complicated, and he is
having a very hard time. Cutting gives him
momentary relief. He would like to stop but
is not able to. You want to help him. What
do you do?
