Traditions:
• The Springprozession
• The procession is held every Whit Tuesday.It
honours Willibrord, the patron saint of
Luxembourg, who established the Abbey of
Echternach. Echternach has developed a strong
tourism industry centred on the procession, which
draws many thousands of tourists and pilgrims
from around the world. The procession is inscribed
in 2010 as hopping procession of Echternach on
the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible
Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
• The Abbey of Echternach was a major Christian
centre in the Middle Ages, and maintained a
famous library and scriptorium.

•Population: 626,000 people live in the country (2021)
•Capital: Luxembourg City with 124,000 inhabitants
•Name: Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
Traditions:
•The dancing procession of Echternach is an annual
Roman Catholic dancing procession held at
Echternach, in eastern Luxembourg. Echternach's is
the last traditional dancing procession in Europe.
Geograhpy

• Geographically , the country is


divided into two sections. The
forested and hilly northern half of the
country is a continuation of the
Belgian Ardennes.
Climate
•Climate : July and August are the warmest
months; May and June are the sunniest; and
January and February are the coldest months.
Luxembourg has a climate much like that of
the U.S. Pacific Northwest-cool, temperate,
and rainy. The northwesterly winds that
traverse the western, lower portion of the
Belgian Ardennes cause abundant clouds, fog,
and rain.
A taste of Luxembourg
•These dumplings are traditionally associated with the
colder seasons, and are a treat after a long winter
walk, or when you need some comfort food through
the dark days. The ingredients – flour, eggs, milk,
butter and bacon- mirror the farming past of
Luxembourg, when they were the basis of subsistence
for large parts of the population. Today, even though
the country has hugely diversified, they remain a
quote from the past, and for many a fan, they recall
fond memories of being at their grandparents’ table.

Sport

• If you are passionate about sports and fear that


you won't have anything to do in Luxembourg, you are
wrong! In Luxembourg you can practice almost any
sport, starting with cycling, rollerblading,
skateboarding, field or table tennis, football- which can
be practiced in almost any park - but also golf, horse
riding, hunting, diving or a wide range of aerial sports.
Golf Golf Club Grand Ducal
• The Grand Ducal Golf Club was built since 1935,
and is only 7 km from Luxembourg City. With two
tracks, one for women, with a length of 5197 m, and
one of 5802 m, for men, this field is ideal. Also, inside
the complex you will find a restaurant and a bar, where
you can relax during a break
