I, OVERVIEW
1, THE NATURE OF EQUIVALENCE IN TRANSLATION

The central problem of translation - practice is that of finding TL translation

equivalents. A central task of translation theory is that of defining the nature and
condition of translation equivalence. (Catford 1965)
 2. DIFFERENCE VIEWPOINTS ON EQUIVALENCE

Equivalence is a necessary condition to perform Equivalence in translation is impossible
