Proclamation No.

1172:
Declaring November 25 to
December 12 of Every Year as
the “18 Day Campaign to End
Violence against Women“
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-
ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines,
by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby
declare November 25 to December 12 of every year as
the “18-Day Campaign to End Violence against
Women in the Philippines”.
 TheNational Commission on the Role of Filipino Women
(NCRFW) shall lead, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the nationwide
yearly observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence against
Women from November 25 to December 12 of every year, in
coordination with the Inter-Agency Council against Trafficking
(IACAT) and the Inter-Agency Council on violence against Women
and Children (IACVAWC).
All departments and agencies of the national government,
including state colleges and universities, Local Government
Units (LGUs) and all the other sectors of society are enjoined
to actively support and participate in the protection of human
rights of women against vioence and all other forms of
discrimination.
Proclamation No. 1105: Declaring
October 15, 1997, and of Every Year
Thereafter, as “National Rural
Women’s Day“
WHEREAS, as a result of the 4th UN World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995, the
International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP), the Women’s World Summit
Foundation (WWSF) and the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) designated
October 15 as “World Rural Women’s Day” to highlight the largely unrecognized contribution of
rural women, the world over, to food security and to the development of the rural areas;

NOW, THEREFORE, I FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue
of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim October 15, 1997, and of every year
thereafter, as “National Rural Women’s Day”.
Proclamation No. 759: Declaring the
Fourth Week of March 1996 as
“Protection and Gender-Fair
Treatment of the Girl Child Week“
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the
Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in
me by law, do hereby declare the fourth week of March 1996,
and every year thereafter, as “Protection and Gender-Fair
Treatment of the Girl Child Week” under the auspices of
the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC).
 WHEREAS, every Girl Child who is below 18 years of age should be provided
with equal opportunities and adequate protection to prepare her for her role in
community development.
 SEC. 3. Assistance from Other Agencies. — All departments, offices or
agencies of the government, including but not limited to the Department of
Interior and Local Government, Department of Labor and Employment and the
Philippine National Police are hereby ordered to assist and coordinate with the
DSWD and the CWC in the realization of the objectives, as defined in this
proclamation.
 ProclamationNo. 227: Providing for the Observance of the Month of March
as “Women’s Role in History Month”
 WHEREAS, the House of Representatives has designated under Resolution No.
20 the month of March, 1988 and every month of March thereafter as “Women’s
Role in History Month”;
 WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 20 highlights the historical contributions which
Filipino women of every class, religion and ethnic background have made to the
growth and strength of the nation in countless recorded and unrecorded ways;
 NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO,
President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers
vested in me by law, do hereby call upon the people of the
Philippines to observe the month with appropriate
ceremonies and activities. Towards this end, the National
Commission on the Role of Filipino Women is hereby
designated as the Secretariat to coordinate its nationwide
observance.
 ProclamationNo. 224, s. 1988: Declaring the First Week of March of Every
Year as Women’s Week and March 8, 1988 and Every Year Thereafter as
Women’s Rights and International Peace Day

 NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines,


by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the first week of
March, of every year as Women’s Week and March 8, 1988 and every year
thereafter as Women’s Rights and International Peace Day.
