INNOVATIVE PRACTICES: EGD

DUSTBIN FOR OFFICE USE

OBJECTIVE

The objective of doing this project is to help people in office spaces

to segregate the garbage.
Since many people do not know the proper segregation of waste
products, the innovative project made by our group will help them
to seperate wet waste and dry waste in office.
This segregation of waste will help later, when the garbage is
passed on for decomposition and recycling.
INTRODUCTION
Dustbin is a very important and essential part of our Daily lives.

A Dustbin is especially important in an office environment.

In todays time, it is very important to segregate the garbage

produced.

Hence, it is very important to have at least two garbage bins. One for

the paper waste and one for the plastic waste.
TYPES OF BINS USED IN OFFICE
SPACES

It is very important that we put our waste in the dustbin which is specially
designed for a particular type of waste.
Since things like paper, cardboard are recyclable, we should always put
these waste in the recyclable dustbin which is usually green in colour or in
the dustbin which has paper written on it.
Since objects like pen are made of plastic, they are non biodegradable and
hence should be put in dustbins which are especially used for disposing
non biodegradable waste. The dustbins used for non biodegradable waste
are usually blue in colour or has plastic written on it.
Non biodegradable wastes are classified as dry waste while biodegradable
wastes are classified as wet waste.
LITERATURE SURVEY
A survey was conducted by our team in order to get data about the
awareness of people regarding segregation of garbage waste.
The following are the results from that survey:
INNOVATIVE IDEAS FOR DUSTBIN

One of the ideas we can use is using a dustbin which has both (the
biodegradable and the non biodegradable section) together in order
to minimize the space used by the dustbin in the office.
INNOVATIVE IDEAS

Another Innovative idea based on the results from the survey

conducted is designing a dustbin in office spaces which can
automatically segregate garbage.
This type of dustbin is especially useful for people who do not
know the type of waste (whether wet or dry) they are putting in the
dustbin.
This type of dustbin can be made by connecting moisture sensor
and a motor to a plate which is then attatched to the rim of the
dustbin.
DESIGN
WORKING
The working of the automatic segregation dustbin is as follows:
When the waste product is kept on the plate having the moisture
sensor, The sensor senses the properties of the product and then
uses the motor to put the waste product in the specific garbage bin.
Hence, the waste gets segregated.
CONCLUSION

Hence, this proves that segregating the garbage can be very easy
and cost effective and can greatly help the environment. Both the
ideas in the ppt presented are easy to use, are user and nature
friendly and helps us towards leading a easy and convenient future.
