 Corrosion is the processe of


degradation and deterioration of
metals or metal objects, under the
action of chemical agents in the
environment. In short , the
degradation of a material in reaction
with the environment to which it is
exposed.

4. Properties of the materials;
5. The shape of the materials ;
6. Degree of the pollution ;
Aluminum(Al)

 Is smooth, has a little spot of corrosion ;


 The corrosion is located on both sides in 2 different
places ;
 The corrosion is noticed more with the magnifying
glass ;
 With time the aluminum sample got green spots of
rust ;
Carbon Steel(CS)

 Rusty Aspect ;
 The corrosion is located on both sides unevenly ;
 The corrosion is noticed more with the magnifying
glass ;
 The metal has changed its color completely , it was
hard to recognize it ;
Cooper(Cu)

 It shows green spots of rust ;


 The rust is located in the middle of both sides ;
 The rust looks more colorful ;
 It shows no other signs of corrosion ;
Stainless Steel(SS)
 Clean without signs of corrosions on the surface ;
 There is no trace of corrosion in the metal ;
 Even with the magnifying glass, we can’t
see corrosion ;
 it is the only ;
 metal of the 4 that has not corroded It is slightly
scratched due to sandpaper use ;
