BREASTFEEDING, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE
REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7600, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS “AN
ACT PROVIDING INCENTIVES TO ALL GOVERNMENT
AND PRIVATE HEALTH INSTITUTIONS WITH ROOMING-
IN AND BREASTFEEDING PRACTICES AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES”
*Otherwise known as the “Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009”
Republic Act No. 10028*
RA 10028 mandates that all health and non-health facilities, establishments or
institutions shall establish lactation stations. The lactation stations shall be adequately
provided with the necessary equipment and facilities, the standards of which shall be
defined by the Department of Health.

All health and non-health facilities, establishments or institutions shall take strict
measures to prevent any direct or indirect form of promotion, marketing, and/or sales of
infant formula and/or breastmilk substitutes within the lactation stations, or in any event
or circumstances which may be conducive to the same.

Certification”
Salient features:
• Responsibilities of implementing agencies:
⚬ Department of Health (DOH) is the lead agency to oversee the
implementation of the law
• Requirements and contents for/of application
• Minimum requirements of a lactation station
• Self-assessment tool
The certification shall be valid for two (2) years, subject to re-application and reassessment.

Orientation on Breastfeeding

The Orientation on Breastfeeding was conducted on 21 June 2023 at the STII Cast Room attended by STII female
personnel. The three (3) resource speakers were from Taguig City Health Office, headed by Ms. Joann O. Espiritu,
City Nutrition Program Coordinator.
