Faithfulness

A person who lives his life by faith will live

a life of faithfulness to God

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5:7

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,

longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23
gentleness, self-control. Against such there is
no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
A Person Who Lives
by Faith
• Is Faithful to God
• Is dependable and reliable towards the
things of God
• He is trustworthy to the cause of Christ
• He can be counted on to obey the word
of God
• On the other hand, unfaithfulness in
life shows a lack of faith in God

Luke 16:10 (ex: Material=Little/Spiritual=Great)
Luke 16:10
He who is faithful in what is
least is faithful also in much; and
he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also
in much.

(11) Therefore if you have not been faithful

in the unrighteous mammon, who will
commit to your trust the true riches?

Faithful Servants
Matthew 24:45-47; 48-51 (Faithfulness is a matter
of loyalty to Christ!)
Matthew 24:45-47
Who then is a faithful and
wise servant, whom his master
made ruler over his household, to give them
food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant
whom his master, when he comes, will find so
doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will
make him ruler over all his goods.

Faithful servant rewarded for his loyalty

with greater honor and responsibility
Matthew 24:48-51
But if that evil servant says in
his heart, “My master is delaying
his coming,” 49 and begins to beat his fellow
servants, and to eat and drink with the
drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will
come on a day when he is not looking for him
and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and
will cut him in two and appoint him his
portion with the hypocrites. There shall be
weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Faithfulness in Families
1 Pet. 3:1-2; 5-7 (not abuse, abandonment, infidelity)
1 Peter 3:1-2
Wives, likewise, be submissive
to your own husbands, that even
if some do not obey the word, they, without a
word, may be won by the conduct of their
wives, 2 when they observe your chaste
conduct accompanied by fear.

Faithfulness is seen in the wife doing what

God requires of her in respect to her husband.
1 Peter 3:5-7
For in this manner, in former times,
the holy women who trusted in God
also adorned themselves, being submissive to their
own husbands, 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling
him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good
and are not afraid with any terror. 7 Husbands,
likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving
honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as
being heirs together of the grace of life, that your
prayers may not be hindered.

Both wives and husbands have specific duties

required by God to be faithful.

fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of
God our Savior in all things.

1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober, be vigilant; because
your adversary the devil walks
about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he
may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the
faith, knowing that the same sufferings are
experienced by your brotherhood in the
world.
1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God
overcomes the world. And this is
the victory that has overcome the world--our
faith.

If we are faithful, we overcome the world.

We are not overtaken by it, but victorious
over it. The proof of our faith is our
faithfulness!
Conclusion
Being faithful calls for all our energy to be
directed toward heaven

If then you were raised with Christ, seek

those things which are above, where Christ
is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your
mind on things above, not on things on the
earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden
with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:1-3
Conclusion
To err is human;
to forgive, Divine.

“Therefore you shall be perfect, just

as your Father in heaven is perfect.”
