 Abstrak
Meningkatnya konsumsi internet oleh masyarakat Indonesia berdampak pada perubahan pola
pemenuhan kebutuhan akan informasi. Kini, masyarakat Indonesia lebih memanfaatkan media
online ketika mencari informasi yang dibutuhkan. Hal itu berpengaruh pada penurunan jumlah
khalayak yang menggunakan media massa konvensional, termasuk khalayak yang menonton
tayangan televisi konvensional. Dengan demikian, Kompas TV membuat sebuah tayangan digital
berbasis internet, yaitu “Eksklusif Digital” yang memanfaatkan kanal website kompas.tv dan
YouTube untuk menyalurkan kontennya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Studi Kasus
Intrinsik Robert E. Stake dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, studi
dokumen, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian adalah Kompas TV menggunakan website
kompas.tv dan YouTube untuk penyaluran konten “Eksklusif Digital”, karena website kompas.tv
merupakan platform utama Kompas TV dalam media online dan bertujuan untuk
memperkenalkan website kompas.tv kepada khalayak sebagai video portal Kompas TV.
Kemudian menggunakan YouTube, karena saat ini YouTube merupakan media sosial yang paling
aktif digunakan di Indonesia.

 Pendahuluan

“Eksklusif Digital” merupakan sebuah tayangan yang khusus/hanya disalurkan melalui media online, yaitu kanal
website kompas.tv dan YouTube. Bernama “Eksklusif Digital” pun karena, kontennya yang eksklusif yaitu hanya
ditayangakan pada program-program “Eksklusif Digital”, tidak ditayangkan pada program-program Kompas TV
terestrial. Sehingga khalayak yang ingin menonton tayangannya, harus membuka website kompas.tv atau
YouTube Kompas TV, karena “Eksklusif Digital” tidak ada pada tayangan Kompas TV terestrial. Hal yang
mendasari dibuatnya “Eksklusif Digital”, berdasarkan wawancara dengan Haris Mahardiansyah selaku pihak dari
Departemen Digital Kompas TV, mengaku jika saat ini penonton televisi, khususnya anak muda, sudah mulai
berkurang jumlahnya. Mereka lebih sering mengakses YouTube daripada menonton televisi. Oleh karena itu,
“Eksklusif Digital” memanfaatkan kanal website kompas.tv dan YouTube untuk menyalurkan kontennya kepada
khalayak. Jenis tayangan seperti “Eksklusif Digital” saat ini hanya ada di Kompas TV, media atau televisi pesaing
belum memilikinya. Sebab, umumnya stasiun televisi lain memiliki konten tayangan yang sama pada siaran
televisi terestrial dan pada tayangan digital berbasis internet, yaitu pada website dan YouTube. Hingga saat ini,
“Eksklusif Digital” memiliki lima program, yaitu Musika Foresta, Cerita Indonesia, Top 3 News, News Vlog, dan
Web Series Izinkan Kami Sekolah.

PROGRAM STRATEGY OF
HARD NEWS ON KOMPAS TV

 ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini mendiskripsikan permasalahan tentang strategi program hard news yang
dilakukan oleh Kompas TV. Objek penelitian ini adalah program hard news pada Kompas
TV yang diteliti dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan
sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu sampling bertujuan (Purposive Sampling).
Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi partisipatif, wawancara, dan studi
pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan strategi yang dilakukan oleh produser dan tim
programming di Kompas TV meliputi strategi dalam perencanaan program yang terdiri dari
penyusunan produk program, dan promosi program. Strategi dalam produksi sendiri (in house
production) dan pembelian program melalui tiga sistem. Strategi pada eksekusi
program meliputi penayangan program sesuai pola siar dan sesuai dengan target penonton.
Selain itu strategi pengawasan program dilakukan melalui quality control yang secara
internal oleh produser dan tim programming yang mengacu pada Pedoman Perilaku
Penyiaran dan Standar Program Siaran (P3SPS) dan pengawasan secara eksternal oleh
Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia (KPI), serta strategi yang disusun melalui evaluasi secara
harian dan mingguan.

Kompas Gramedia TV (KGTV) dibentuk oleh PT Gramedia Media Nusantara pada tahun 2008 dengan brand name
Kompas TV. Kompas TV adalah sebuah perusahaan media yang menyajikan konten tayangan televisi inspiratif dan
menghibur untuk keluarga Indonesia. Sesuai dengan visi misi yang diusung, Kompas TV mengemas program news,
adventure & knowledge, dan entertainment yang mengedepankan kualitas. Konten program news Kompas TV adalah
program berita yang tegas, terarah, dan memberi harapan. Selain itu, untuk program lainnya, Kompas TV menekankan
pada eksplorasi Indonesia, baik kekayaan alam, khasanah budaya, Indonesia kini, hingga talenta berprestasi (Kompas
TV, 2016).Tumbuh dalam industri televisi komersial dengan persaingan yang sangat ketat, Kompas TV berusaha untuk
tetap berada pada koridor visi misi sehingga dapat selalu menyajikan program tayangan inspiratif dan informatif
dengan kemasan menarik bagi keluarga Indonesia. Bagi sebuah stasiun televisi, adalah tanggung jawab besar untuk
turut membentuk moral bangsa (Kompas TV, 2016). Kompas TV adalah salah satu stasiun televisi nasional yang baru
di awal tahun 2016, yang memantapkan statusnya menjadi stasiun penyiaran berita. Kompas TV berhasil meneguhkan
citranya sebagai stasiun penyiaran berita, sejak Rosianna Silalahi masuk dan menjadi Pemimpin Redaksi.
