INTRODUCTION
• The concept of smart grid is to add monitoring, analysis, control
and communication capabilities to the national electrical delivery
system to maximize the throughput of the system while reducing
the energy consumption.
• A smart grid is a future vision of power system. The smart grid
concept was introduced in the 2000s to address multiple issues,
such as power quality , energy security , renewable integration, etc.
• Load forecasting(LF) has become an active are of research over the
last few years , with a handful of studies. There is a need for more
accurate forecasting models to allow for better planning and
operation of electricity providers to meet consumer demand
reliability.
• Load forecasting is a technique used by power or energy-providing
companies to predict the power/energy needed to meet the demand and
supply equilibrium. The accuracy of forecasting is of great significance for
the operational and managerial loading of a utility company
• The ability to accurately forecast demand from weeks up to months and
years can help energy suppliers anticipate how much power to generate to
SMART GRID
LOAD FORECASTING
Motivation
1: To increase the accuracy of forecast to
predict the power/energy needed to meet
the demand and supply equilibrium.
2: To improve the predictive performance.
3: To achieve better efficiency, reliability
and power quality.
4: To decrease the cost of electricity
production.
5: To achieve the lowest forecast error rate
for each dataset.
6: To enhance the electrical and demand
forecast accuracy.
7; Accurate load forecasting enables
utilities to run at the lowest possible cost,
potentially saving electric power companies
a lot of money.
Problem statement
To decrease the gap between demand and
generation.

The factors affecting on load forecasting such

as humidity, temperature, wind speed,
cloudiness, seasonal effects decrease the
efficiency and accuracy of the electric load
forecasting.

There are three algorithms such as machine

learning(ML), genetic algorithm(GA),
artificial neural network(ANN) are used to
minimize the forecast error.
PROPOSED METHODOLOGY
Engineer and society
1: Engineers are capable to solve the problems of
the society related to different problems such as
energy providing, and solve the problem of load
sheading and capable to decrease the gap between
demand and generation .
2:Engineers are better know the beat technique to
perform the load forecasting .
3:Engineers are better know that renewable energy
resources such as solar , wind are more efficient
resources for our environment and weather
conditions .
4:Society play important role in power system due
to its demand of electricity.
5:Engineer are know that how to decrease the
demand and generation and how to meet the load
demand .
Environment and sustainability
1 Environment sustainability is the responsibility
to conserve natural resources and protect globe
ecosystems to support health and wellbeing, now
and in the future.
2 Power system are now shifted to renewable
resources to protect the energy losses and to
decrease the cost of the energy and protect the
environment and ecosystem.
3 Engineers are now uses the renewable resources
such as solar, wind, hydro, biogases to decrease
the cost of electricity and reduce the gap between
demand and supply.
4 There are less number of renewable energy
resources are using to generate the maximum
generation capacity .
