• Knowledge is the intellectual capital that an
organization possesses. Technological
developments and for organizations to know how to
creatively develop and use the internet have
promoted an explosion in the scope and depth of
available knowledge.
• Intellectual capital is an asset that is created from
knowledge.
World’s first director of intellectual capital at
SKANDIA Leif Edvinsson divided intellectual capital
into three types:

1. RENAISSANCE AND THE PRINTING PRESS:
The invention of the printing press by Johannes
Gutenberg in the 15th century marked a significant
turning point.
2. INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION:
The Industrial Revolution in the 18th and 19th
centuries shifted the focus from agrarian economies
to industrial and manufacturing processes.
3. DIGITAL REVOLUTION AND INFORMATION AGE:
The expansion of the internet and digital
technologies in the late 20th century further
accelerated the growth of intellectual capital.

capital in Pakistan is essential for the
country's long-term economic and social
development. Intellectual capital refers to
the collective knowledge, skills, and abilities
of a nation's workforce, as well as the
intangible assets such as innovation,
research, and development capabilities.
