Disadvantages of Computer

Presentation by
AZRA SHABIR
Introduction
Computer is an electronic device that
takes input from user and generates
output by performing various tasks.
While computers have many advantages,
they may include possible disadvantage.
Disadvantages
01 Health risks 02 Data security

03 Voilation of 04 Impact on
privacy environment

05 Lack of physical
activity
Health Risks
Working at a computer can cause back, neck and shoulder
pains, headache, eye strain and overuse injuries of the arms
and hands.

Excess use of computers may also effect blood circulation

in the body.
Voilation of
Privacy
There is a high risk of private information
leakage when using the internet on a computer.

Identity thieves can gain access to our personal

information through the infiltration of Trojans and
malware into our systems.
Lack of Physical Activity

With computers becoming increasingly accessible, we

are becoming incredibly inactive and lazy.

Spending most of the time in front of computer greatly

affects the physical activities like games, sports etc.

Lack of physical activity can lead to weight gain,

muscle weakness, and poor posture, which can cause
long-term health problems.
Data Security
Data security is greatly compromised

eferrefering
to unauthorized parties gaining access to sensitive
data or confidential information, including personal
data (Social Security numbers, bank account
numbers, healthcare data) or corporate data (customer
data records, intellectual property, financial
information).
Impact on Environment
Computers have revolutionized work and communication, but
also contribute to environmental concerns such as e-waste and
energy consumption.

The manufacturing process of computers and disposal, can be

detrimental to the environment.

When computers are discarded in open areas, toxic chemicals like

lead and mercury are released, posing serious health risks.
Conclusion
In conclusion, while computers offer numerous benefits, it's essential to be
mindful of the potential drawbacks. By practicing good habits like taking
breaks to prevent eye strain, incorporating physical activity into our
routines, and staying vigilant against cybersecurity threats, we can make the
most of technology while minimizing its downsides.
