Existentialism

By Alexander Smith, Sampson Edwards and Hudson Dalta

The main 4
questions
What is the meaning of life
According to the catholic church. The pope said in one of his books that we should live in God’s “fullness.” We should contemplate,
with gladness and praise the “joyful mystery of the world”. In short he also believes that God created us all with reasons in mind.
We are all here for a reason.
Is there a God(s)
Of course, the pope and the catholic church believes there is a God but it is a
question as to whether he and the church believes we have multiple. And of course,
being the catholic church, we believe there is one God, yet that has many forms.
Are we living in free will or is it all
an illusion
Freewill itself is an illusion. According to Anthony Cashmore he believes that “A belief in free will is nothing other than a continuing belief in vitalism (or, as I say a
belief in magic)” He backs it up by explaining that what we call free will is decisions based on past experiences and external environments. This means that we are
making decisions based on events that have impacted us and not completely up to us. And even if you decided to voluntarily choose the other option there is a reason
for that, whether it's to feel you have free-will or peer pressure, there is always a reason. The decisions we make are involuntary, no matter how much we know about
the multiple paths, our brain makes the decision. According to definition free will is the idea that the decision has no cause, but the world is a world of cause and effect.
Nothing is from nothing.
Is reality what we see or what is
The reality we live in today is known as Consensus reality in which we live in a reality based off the general consensus of what
reality is. But what is that reality? Is a reality that's filled with despair and no meaning, Such as nihilism? We draw meaning of
what reality is from our senses and from meanings such as philosophy and religion
Why are we even here
This means that we are making decisions based on events that
have impacted us and not completely up to us. And even if you
decided to voluntarily choose the other option there is a reason
for that, whether it's to feel you have free-will or peer
pressure, there is always a reason. The decisions we make are
involuntary, no matter how much we know about the multiple
paths, our brain makes the decision. According to definition
free will is the idea that the decision has no cause, but the
world is a world of cause and effect. Nothing is from nothing.
