 Pengertian Suspensi

Suspensi adalah salah satu komponen yang

digunakan untuk menyerap getaran saat
kendaraan berjalan.Sistem suspensi ini pun
berfungsi untuk menjaga kenyamanan dalam
berkendara. Pasalnya komponen ini bisa
meredam getaran serta guncangan ketika
melewati jalan yang bergelombang atau tidak
bagus.

SUSPENSI MODEL RIGID
Pada model rigid roda-roda dipasangkan pada satu
poros (poros tunggal) dan dipasangkan ke bodi melalui
pegas.Suspensi model rigid banyak digunakan pada
suspensi depan dan belakang truck,dan suspensi
belakang mobil-mobil penumpang.

Keuntungan lainnya dari model rigid adalah sedikit

perobahan tread atau camber yang disebabkan gerakan
dari axle.

Kerugiannya dari model rigid ini adalah kualitas

mengendarai serta stabilitas kemudi kurang karena
unsprung weight lebih besar dan roda kiri dan kanan
berputar bersama-sama.
 SUSPENSI MODEL INDEPENDENT
Suspensi Independent merupakan suspensi yang didesain khusus,
karena roda kanan dengan kiri di bagian belakang tidak
dihubungkan secara langsung dan keduanya dihubungkan dengan
sendi-sendi axle. Sesuai dengan namanya,roda kiri dan kanan tidak
dipasangkan pada satu poros melainkan dipasangkan pada masing-
masing axlenya sehingga bekerja sendiri-sendiri menyerap
goncangan.Karena suspensi model independent ini bekerja serupa
dengan lutut masnusia,maka disebut juga suspensi”aksi lutut”
atau”Knee action “Suspension.
MODEL WISHBONE DENGAN PEGAS COIL

Model wishbone adalah model yang banyak dipakai pada

suspensi model independent.Konstruksinya terdiri
dari :upper arm,lower arm.Bersama-sama dengan frame
dan knuckle membentuk segi empat dengan coil spring
dan shock absorber dipasangkan ditengahnya.
MODEL WISHBONE DENGAN PEGAS DAUN

suspensi tipe leaf spring atau yang lebih dikenal

dengan pegas daun. Suspensi tipe pegas daun merupakan
salah satu jenis suspensi independent yang mana kedua
roda baik kanan dan kiri dihubungkan melalui sebuah
poros. Suspensi ini biasanya digunakan pada kendaraan
niaga yang membutuhkan kekuatan karena beban
kendaraan yang tinggi.
MODEL WISHBONE DENGAN PEGAS BATANG TORSI

Pada tipe ini ujung belakang pegas torsi

dipasangkan pada frame melalui anchor
bracket.Sedangkan ujung depan pegas torsi
dipasangkan pada lower arm.

Bila roda-roda berjalan diatas jalan yang tidak

rata,lower arm memutar pegas torsi searah tanda
panah.Hal ini mengakibatkan terjadi reaksi
perlawanan dari pegas torsi yang arahnya
berlawanan dengan arah tanda panah.

Gaya reaksi inilah yang meredam kejutan

permukaan jalan.Bila tonjolan/ketidak rataan jalan
telah dilalui,elastisitas pegas mengembalikan
posisinya ke posisi semula.
