Animal bites are
injuries that result
when flesh is torn
between the teeth
of an animal.
Dog Bites
Dog bites is an
injury caused by a
dog. This type of
injury becomes
fatal if the dog
that bit the victim
is infected with
the rabies virus.
Rabies
A contagious and
fatal viral disease
of dogs and other
mammals that
causes madness
and convulsions,
transmissible
through the saliva
to humans.
Symptoms:

 Headache
Fever
Fatigue
Tingling at site of exposure
Rabies Specific Symptoms
 Hallucinations
Light sensitivity
Insomnia
Excessive Salvation
Hydrophobia
Aggression
First Aid Measures For Dog Bites
1. Wipe the dog's saliva from the wound with a
clean cloth. DO NOT be in contact with the saliva
because it may transmit the virus to you.
2. Wash the injury
thoroughly with
soap and clean
water
3. Cover the
wound with a
sterile dressing if
available and DO
NOT put
substance on the
wound.
4. Transport the
victim to the
nearest medical
facility as soon as
possible.
5. If the dog is
caught, let a
veterinarian
(animal doctor)
assess if it has the
rabies virus.
