WHAT ARE THE TASKS?
The Speaking test is about 5 minutes long and it has 2 parts. Both of the
tasks will be related to the topics covered during the course.

Part 1 - You will have to talk about a photograph on your own.

Part 2 - You will have to talk about something with your partner for about
3 minutes.
PART 1
The examiner gives you a photograph. You speak
by yourself for about a minute while your partner
listens.

TIPS
● Start with more general information and then go into
details. (In this picture I can see a family having picnic. I
think they are having a great time because all of them
are smiling…)
● Speculate. (It could/might be they are…/ It seems like
something …. / I guess it is…)
● Avoid saying words in Spanish, explain them instead. (It
is something you use/need/ do to…)
● You don't have to speak faster than you normally would.
● Avoid long pauses.
● Don't stop speaking until you are asked to.
PART 2
You are given a task to discuss together for 2
minutes, based on a written instruction and
prompts. You then have a minute to try and
reach a decision together. There is no right or
wrong answer to the task and you don't have to
agree with each other. It is the interaction
between you two that is important.

TIPS
● Don't repeat your partner´s ideas.
● Try to use vocabulary learnt in this course.
● Avoid long pauses and don´t speak to fast.
● Make sure your speak about all the options suggested.
● Remember that it's a dialogue not a monologue.
● It's ok if you don't understand something, ask to clarify.
● Use a variety of expressions (not only “I think” and “What do you
think?”)
● Remember that in the first part of this task you don't have to decide.
Leave that for the last minute.
