• The Godfather" is a classic 1972 film directed by Francis Ford Coppola


and based on the novel of the same name by Mario Puzo. The movie
tells the story of the Corleone family, a powerful Italian-American
Mafia clan led by patriarch Vito Corleon.
• Young son of Vito Corleone, the head of the most powerful Mafia
family in New York, Michael is determined to live his own life after
returning home as a war hero. Tragic events, however, force him to
confront his family's legacy, becomes increasingly involved in the
family's criminal activities
• The story is marked by themes of power, loyalty, and betrayal as
Michael is drawn deeper into the world of organized crime and must
make difficult choices to protect his family's interests.

• There is no specific Law for Organised crime in
india but Various sections of the IPC address
crimes associated with organized crime.
• Sec. 120-A criminal conspiracy, Section 384
extortion, Section 149 unlawful assembly. And
Section 300 Murder for contract Killings.
• Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967
(UAPA) deals with unlawful activities, including
activities related to organized crime,
terrorism.
• The Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime
Act (MCOCA), 1999: MCOCA is a state-level
law enacted in Maharashtra to combat
organized crime
• Section 324 of the IPC states that when a person is
voluntarily hurt using a dangerous weapon or
means, the act comes under the purview of
voluntarily causing hurt .
• In Anwarul Haq v. State of Uttar Pradesh, AIR
2005 SC (2383) Court Held that the conviction of a
person who intentionally inflicts harm using
various means, including instruments designed
for violence, fire, poison, or ingestibles, and even
animals. Moreover, if an instrument, when used
as a weapon, has the potential to cause death, it
falls under this section.
• The main ingredient of the offence is that
grievous hurt should be intended to be caused or
the offender should have knowledge that the hurt
caused was likely to be grievous.
• Article 340 refers to Wrongful Confinement
where “Whoever wrongfully restrains any
person in such a manner as to prevent that
person from proceeding beyond certain
circumscribing limits, is said “wrongfully to
confine” that person”
• In Hukam Singh vs State (Delhi
Administration) on 19 August, 1993,
Hukam Singh was wrongfully detained and
charged with warrants regarding production
quality as an employee in the Hindustan
Vegetable Oil Corporation Limited.
• After multiple petitions, the Investigating
Officer whoa arrested him testified that
Hukam was not the person he arrested in
1983 and it was found that the petitioner
was illegally detained for 1 month and nine
days
• Section 300 and 302 of the Indian Penal
Code states that an act is considered
murder if the act which caused death was
done with the intention of causing death
with the punishment being life
imprisonment or death.
• The ingredients of murder, including the
unlawful act, intention, causation, and
absence of legal justification, are essential
elements that establish the crime.
• •In Rasheed Beg v. State of Madhya
Pradesh, 1973, AIR 1974, One of the
accused Majeedbag shot Chitubeg who died
on the spot. He was sentenced with death,
later acquitted with life imprisonment.
Section 11 (a) to (o) of The Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 states that
animal abuse includes harming any animal or
killing any animal (including stray dogs) by
using the method in an unnecessarily cruel
manner.
It is a cognizable offense under Section 429
of the Indian Penal Code because of killing
the horse. Section 429 of the IPC is applicable
the present case as the horse is of the value
of more than fifty rupees.
In Daniram Patwa vs State of Madhya
Pradesh: The accused was charged with
animal abuse under section 429 of IPC for
killing 2 buffaloes cruelly similar to the way
Don killed the horse as in the case in hand.
• Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code, states that
“Whoever, being the husband or the relative of
the husband of a woman, subjects such woman to
cruelty shall be punished with imprisonment for a
term which may extend to three years and shall
also be liable to fine.”

• In this case Article 498 A was registered against
the Defendant and a case was also filed under
Protection of Women from Domestic Violence
Act, 2005 where similarly the defendant was
beaten by their husband in a similar manner to
Carlo’s physical abuse of Connie.
• Sections 161 to 165A of IPC: outlines the
offense of receiving satisfaction other than
lawful compensation for an official act.
Sections 162 to 165A go into more detail
about several types of corruption.
• Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988: This law
makes it illegal for anyone to bribe or corrupt
public officials or to receive any bribe.
• •In Sri. Umesh kumar IPS vs. State of Andhra
Pradesh , Umesh kumar He was a highly
respected officer with a clean record
• . In 2011, Umesh Kumar was accused of
forging a letter in the name of a Rajya Sabha
MP, M.A. Khan, and sending it to the Ministry
of Home Affairs. The letter alleged that Khan
was involved in corrupt practices.
• Vito Corleone refuses the drug deal offered by Sollozzo, which
makes him to attempt to kill him and deal with his sons.
Irrespective of firing 5 shots by his men Corleone survives the
incident with critical injuries.
• According to Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code, anyone who
commits an act with the intent or knowledge that, if he or she
caused death by that act, he or she would be guilty of murder and
shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a
term that may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine;
and, if they cause harm to any person by that act, they shall be
subject to either life imprisonment or such other punishment as is
deemed appropriate.
