some or part of their time.

• The NHS operates in the public sector through networks of different


organisations some being public some for-profit paid by NHS
commissioners.

• Government is in a good position to plan the overall provision for the country
• Services are not duplicated and resources are not wasted
• Government ensures essential services are provided

• Disadvantage
• Very large which can lead to inefficiencies
• The running of the corporation could be politically influenced
• The tax payer has to meet higher tax payments if the corporations make a loss
