CASE STUDY
Identify three possible problems Amazon will face in the next five years

Product Copyrights
One of the biggest challenges Amazon faces is its negative reputation of
copying product ideas from third-party vendors and selling them under the
company’s own brands, like Amazon Basics As retaliation, an increasing
number of third-party vendors are taking their business elsewhere, such as
Alibaba, a Chinese e-commerce marketplace. Amazon has received a lot of
negative public reactions due to this and a loss of future sales can be
expected.
Counterfeit Product Listings
Another potential obstacle that Amazon may encounter is listings of
counterfeit products on the marketplace. Several investigations revealed
thousands of banned, unsafe, and mislabelled product listings on the
marketplace As a result, many buyers are opting to purchase products from
a retail store or directly from the company website. In the long run, this
could result in brands pulling out their product listings from Amazon
entirely. Increasing Competition
2020 had been a rough year for a lot of
companies due to COVID-19, which forced
them to adapt and overcome. As a result, most
retail companies transitioned to online
shopping, so that customers could shop for
products directly from the company website
and have them delivered. This transition
created an immense amount of competition
Solution

Artificial Intelligence
A solution to this problem is for Amazon to upgrade their artificial intelligence.
Customers often leave ratings and reviews under products they purchase, which
influence future customers greatly. Amazon could upgrade their AI to detect
products with extremely poor reviews and ratings and analyse the product
themselves. Any products found to be counterfeit or simply not as described would
be banned from the marketplace.
Human Check
Another possible solution would be for Amazon to check and validate any new
vendors joining the Amazon marketplace. Amazon would create a panel on testers,
who would order products from the vendors as any regular customer would. The
panel then professionally reviews these products based on several factors such as
quality and customer service. This panel would then decide whether the retailer
Products Quotas
A final solution to this problem would be for Amazon to detect and eliminate
repetitive listings. Amazon could remove such duplicate, unrated, and unreviewed
listings to creates clutter-free shopping experience for customers.
Conclusion
Problems and obstacles are compulsory and a constant variable for every company,
The decision-making process is a dynamic and ongoing activity within the
company’s managerial process. From time to time, Amazon will face an
unstructured and unclear problem,
such as the COVID-19pandemic dramatically increasing
competition.Although the tech giant will continue to
encounter obstacles on a regular basis, it won’t be going
away anytime soon, and will indeed continue to dominate
the e-commerce industry for several years to come.
