NEVER
REOPENED?
By Fadia 8-D
WE HAVE FACED
A SITUATION
LIKE THIS
BEFORE…
We have already experienced schools not
reopening for a long period, or not being
able to go physically go to school, during the
pandemic of Covid, where we were unsure if
school would reopen physically within the
coming academic years.
However, due to measures such as masks,
vaccines and social distancing we were able
to reopen schools again smoothly, within a
year or two. But what would happen if due
to certain circumstances, school wouldn’t
reopen?
What if?
If schools never reopened, there would be a
multitude of far-reaching consequences for
individuals, society, and the economy.
Individual
Impact:
Individual Impact:
Students would be deprived of formal education,
which is crucial for their intellectual, social, and
emotional development. They would miss out on
opportunities to learn new skills, acquire
knowledge, and engage with peers in a structured
learning environment. This could lead to academic
setbacks, limiting their future prospects in higher
education, employment, and personal fulfillment.
Economic Impact:
A society without schools would experience
a decline in economic productivity and
innovation. The workforce would be
composed of individuals with limited
education and skills, hindering their ability
to participate in complex and knowledge-
based industries. This could lead to lower
economic growth, reduced innovation, and a
decline in overall economic
competitiveness.
