WHAT IS
SSS?
• A Social Security System (SSS) is a government-administered program
designed to provide financial support and social protection to eligible
individuals or groups within a society. The specific structure and benefits of
a social security system can vary from one country to another, but the
primary goal is to address various economic and social risks that people
may face throughout their lives.
GSIS
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) provides social
security coverage to employees in the public sector. GSIS also
administers the Employees’ Compensation Program for public sector
workers, which provides benefits for work-related disability, injury or
death, and the General Insurance Fund, which offers insurance
coverage for all properties with government insurable interest.
