Multi-Band Microstrip Antenna

Team Members: Abdulllah Maher

Instructor : prof. Majid Khodier

Course : EE407 Week 1

Our Goals • Design a multi-band patch antenna

• Simulate the design using EM simulation software

(HFSS)

• Fabricate the antenna through a PCB lab in the

university

• Test the antenna in circuits and radio frequency labs

Our Process • Determine the needed frequencies

• Work out hand calculations/theoretical analyses

• Read and study research papers about the subject

• Familiarize ourselves with HFSS and Altuim designer

• Simulate our design

• Build a PCB on Altuim designer

• validate our design in labs

We need help with: • We couldn’t know which band exactly for 5GHz that used in Jordan.

• Still couldn’t find a good resource that explain how to measure the

needed gap for our frequency.

Next week : • Calculate the antenna dimensions

• Find good resources for calculating the gap

• Familiarize ourselves with HFSS
