Os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável são um apelo global à ação para acabar com a
pobreza, proteger o meio ambiente e o clima e garantir que as pessoas, em todos os lugares, possam
desfrutar de paz e de prosperidade.
Os ODS foram elaborados como uma extensão dos ODM, adotados durante a Cúpula do Milênio,
em 2000. Os ODM foram objetivos específicos e mensuráveis, propostos para atender às principais
necessidades dos países mais pobres.
