READING:
Read and answer the questions:
Sitcom” stands for situation comedy. It is a type of TV
show very popular in the United Kingdom. A show
features a family, a group of friends, or a group of
workers. Series are usually six episodes of 30 minutes
each. They are made in front of a studio audience.
Lots of laughter can be heard. Each episode is set in
the same place and uses the same characters.

Usually there are different types of characters. Some


characters are serious, others are crazy. Some
characters make lots of jokes. Others are funny 1. Where are sitcoms usually made?
because they don’t make any jokes. Some sitcoms
deal with serious issues such as problems at school or
in the family. Others are more light-hearted. 2. What can be heard?
Many characters from sitcoms have become well-
known outside of their shows for their personality. For
