Es un parásito de cuerpo cilíndrico y delgado de


hasta 12 mm de largo y color blanco. De la
Familia: Oxyuridae, que se aloja en el intestino del
ser humano y de otros vertebrados al ingerir agua o
alimentos contaminados con huevos de este animal;
la hembra pone los huevos en el ano del huésped
mientras duerme, lo que provoca intensa picazón.
¿Donde prevalece o donde se
encuentra el oxiuro?
Los oxiuros son parásitos que pueden vivir en el colon y en el recto de una persona.
Se pueden adquirir cuando se tragan los huevos de este parásito. Estos huevos se
pueden encontrar en las manos, debajo de las uñas de los dedos, en las superficies o
los objetos que toca la gente como: la ropa de cama, las prendas de vestir y las
toallas. Los huevos se abren dentro de sus intestinos.

oxiuriasis
• picazón en la zona que rodea el ano, con la consiguiente
dificultad para dormir, e irritabilidad.
• Si se trata de un estado grave de la infección, los
síntomas pueden ser
• nerviosismo
• inquietud
• inapetencia
• adelgazamiento
• las niñas pueden sentir picazón e irritación en la vagina
(vaginitis) si tienen parásitos cerca de la zona.
