Syringe

Volkov Yaroslav 9E
 Syringes work because of a thing called pressure. A syringe is
basically a long plastic tube with a plastic plunger inside that sticks
out from one end of the tube and can slide back and forward
through it.
Syringe from  Here is a fixed number of molecules of air inside of the syringe.
When the plunger is pushed in, these molecules begin to push (or
physics point collide) against each other and the sides of the syringe more and
of view more because of the lack of space. This decrease in volume (less
space) increases the pressure (more collisions). The opposite
phenomenon occurs when the plunger is pulled out. Both
occurrences are a demonstration of Boyle's Law.
 The main use of syringe to inject or take out fluid.
Kinetic molecular theory of gases and Energy
changes involving heat.
 Kinetic molecular theory in syringe: By decreasing the
volume, the molecules move from one end of the
syringe to the other in a shorter period of time. This
means that they hit the walls more frequently causing
more force which must lead to an increase in the
pressure of the gas. Thus, the pressure of a gas
increases as the volume decreases.
 Energy changes involving heat in syringe:The increase
in temperature will cause an increase in motion. The
increase in kinetic energy will cause an increase in
pressure inside of the syringe. The increase in pressure
will cause an increase in the volume of the syringe.
 Well for example, there's liquid (like blood or water) on the outside
of the needle, so it gets pulled into the empty space by the
vacuum. This is because the liquid pushes up against the hole at
the end of the needle, but since there's no air or anything there to
Example push back on it, it rushes in.
 When you press the plunger back down, it just pushes the liquid
back out through the hole in the end of the needle.
We can calculate the pressure by the formula
Pressure=
Example: Pressure in 10 ml syringe w 50g mass.
Formulas Force=mg=(0.050 kg)()=0.49 N
Pressure= =3324 Pa
Percent Error from -3 to 5%
Why you need a
syringe?
What should you know before buying?
Though a small medical device, a syringe is certainly important, when it
comes to standard medical examinations. Before attempting to buy
syringes online, it’s important to know the different types of syringes
and needles and their respective applications.
A syringe size is measured in centimeters or milliliters. While smaller
volumes are used for subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, 10-
12ml syringes are used for medical tubing and 20- 70 ml are used for the
purpose of irrigation. However, it’s always better to choose a syringe
having a capacity; which is one size larger than the volume to be
measured.
The type of needle depends upon the weight of the patient and the type
of tissue, into which the medication has to be injected. While shorter
needles are used for subcutaneous injections, longer ones are used for
Intramuscular injections. The gauge size depends on the viscosity of the
fluid to be infused or injected.
