I. DC Motor
• What is DC motor?
A DC motor or direct current motor is an electrical
machine that transforms electrical energy into
mechanical energy by creating a magnetic field that is
powered by direct current. When a DC motor is
powered, a magnetic field is created in its stator. The
field attracts and repels magnets on the rotor

reverse—an essential factor for controlling the
operation of production equipment.

▪ In a separately excited DC motor, the motor
has separate electrical supplies to the
armature winding and field winding, which
are electrically separate from each other. The
operations of the armature current and field
current do not interfere with each other‘s
actions, but the input power is their total
sum.

To change the velocity of DC motor, we change the
armature supply so we have to adjust the DC volage of DC
motor
That why, we choose bridge rectifier to control.
II. Bridge rectifier
The Bridge Rectifier is said to be a widely used circuit among many electronic circuits. Bridge
Rectifiers are widely used for supplying power to various electronic basic components. The purpose
of the Bridge Rectifier is to convert the AC power into DC power.

With thyristor, we can control the open phase of SCR to adjust the output
