Jajmani Vyavastha
• Etymologically, the term Jajman has been derived from the Sanskrit word
Yajman, which means a person who performs a yajna.
• Jajmani system is a patron-provider system, in which landholding patrons
(jajmans) are linked through exchanges of food for services with Brahmin
priests, artisans (black­smiths, potters), agricultural labourers, and other
workers (i.e. Kamins).
• Kamins are also known as Praja.

• “The service relations which are governed
by a hereditary tenure are called Jajman-
