PERFORM AFTERCARE SERVICE
THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATIONS WILL HELP
YOU GET THE MOST FROM YOUR MASSAGE
TREATMENT.
1. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER OR HERBAL TEAS TO
HELP PREVENT DEHYDRATION

2. CUT DOWN ON DRINKS CONTAINING CAFFEINE


SO THE BODY CAN CONCENTRATE ON HEALING
3. EAT A LIGHT HEALTHY MEAL SO THE BODY CAN CONCENTRATE
ON HEALING.

4. REST AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND AVOID ANY


STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES.
5. IF AROMATHERAPY OILS HAVE BEEN USED, TRY
NOT TO HAVE A BATH OR SHOWER FOR THE 24
HOURS, TO ALLOW THE OILS TO BE ABSORBED INTO
THE SKIN
6. IF THE OILS ARE PHOTO TOXIC AVOID USING STRONG
SUNLIGHT OR SUNBEDS FOR 24/48 HOURS
•REMEMBER THAT :
-After treatment you will usually feel
relaxed and enjoy the benefits of the
treatment. Occasionally though, you may
experience a reaction from the treatment,
however these are mainly due to the
stimulation to the lymphatic system, as the
body is re-balancing and cleansing itself.
REMEMBER THAT……
- Any reactions are only temporary and
usually disappear with 24/48 hours, leaving
you feeling refreshed and full of energy. If
for any reason, you feel unsure about the
reaction, please don’t hesitate to contact
your health provider, so that advice can be
given and notes can be made on your
consultation form.
More common reactions can
include:
Aching/soreness of muscles
•Tiredness
•Heightened emotional
state
Less common reactions can
include:
* Headache If you should suffer
* Dizziness or nausea any severe reactions

* Disrupted sleep pattern notify your therapist
* Increased release of mucus
in the nose or mouth
* Excessive urination
•Increase in bowel movements
• Erythema (redness of the skin)
• Irritation
• Fatigue
•Change of appetite
