What is computer
memory
Memory plays a very important
role in a computer. It is a basic
unit where data and instructions
are stored temporally. Memory
mostly has one or more chips. It is
present on the motherboard.
There is to types of computer
memory :
RAM(Random access memory)
ROM(Read only memory)
Ram:
RAM which is also called main memory, consists of memory chips that can be read and written
by the processor and other devices.
Types of Ram:
Dynamic RAM
Static RAM
ROM
ROM refers to memory chips used
for storing data that can be read
only. The data on ROM chips
cannot be modified, hence the
name is read only memory.
