-Deputies from the left camp have been making public speeches
and blocking the most dangerous changes in the criminal law
proposed by the government;
-The Public Defenders Office has been visiting the favelas to
collect reporting of human rights’ violations;
- Committees in parliaments have held public hearings;
- Research and extension projects to academically support
resistance;
- HRDs have taken every opportunity to tell the world about the
context of violations we are experiencing.
THE PROTAGONISM OF THE
RESISTANCE
-I black woman resist - Black women driven by Marielle's
example for political life;
- Intersectionality and articulation between gender, race
and class in political activity.
- They are the most prominent deputies, public defenders,
teachers and activists in the progressive field;
- They are the organizers of the largest street mobilizations
against the government;
WOMEN IN POLITICS
- Wewere able to elect in 2018 several women who were inspired
by Marielle Franco's legacy;
- One federal and three state deputy in Rio;
- For the first time a federal bench with gender parity in the
country;

"I did not imagine that I would one day join an electoral party, because I do not
believe in the political structure. But the murder of Marielle [Franco] inspired me a
lot to position myself and occupy this space of power that we are denied."
TECHNICAL RESISTANCE
A network of popular lawyers, first responders,
psychologists, social workers, journalists and
activists has been set up to monitor the
mobilizations and help victims of violence.
