DENGUE
INTRODUCTION

Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has


rapidly spread to all regions,continents,countries of
the world in recent years. Dengue virus is transmitted
by female mosquitoes mainly of the species Aedes
aegypti . These mosquitoes are also vectors of yellow
fever and Zika viruses. Dengue is widespread
throughout the tropics, with local variations in risk
influenced by climate parameters as well as social,
environmental and even biological factors at some
extent.
Symptoms,exposure types and prevention
of dengue
•Nausea,vomiting

Mild dengue
• Mild dengue fever causes a high
fever and flu-like symptoms. The
severe form of dengue fever, also
called dengue hemorrhagic fever,
can cause serious bleeding, a
sudden drop in blood pressure
(shock) and death.
Severe Dengue
• Severe dengue is defined by dengue
with any of the following symptoms:
severe plasma leakage leading to
shock or fluid accumulation with
respiratory distress; severe bleeding;
or severe organ impairment,impaired
consciousness, or heart impairment.

• What is dengue treatment in our local methods?Any six.
= Six local methods of dengue treatment are:
1.Boil 10 to 15 Basil leaves in water, cool it and drink the basil water for at
least 2 to 3 times in a day but one may avoid if they are suffering from
low blood pressure.
2.Soak fresh neem leaves in cold water, filter them and drink it four times a
day avoid during pregnancy and diabetes.
3.Fenugreek(methi) leaves help in reducing fever and minimizing the
pain.They can be soaked into water and then blended to make juice out
of it.You can also add methi powder into the juice.
4.To make juice from papaya leaves, simply cut the leaves and soak it in cold
water. Grind the leaves and drink it four times in a day. Drinking the juice
of papaya leaves must be avoided during pregnancy.
5. Giloy(gurjo) herb helps patient in maintaining the metabolic rate and
improving the immune system. You can simply boil its stem and drink it
as an herbal drink or can even add Tulsi leaves in it.
6. A North American herb golden seal(sunaulo) found in our locality help in
headaches, nausea and fever with an antiviral property to fight against
dengue fever.
