HOLY TRINITY
Christians believed in holy trinity
• God the father, the Son( Jesus
Christ ) and the holy spirit
• The concept of the Holy Trinity
was never mentioned in the old
testament.
HOLY TRINITY
• In the new testament, it never mentioned
the term, gives some references to it.
Matthew 28:19 it is stated:
• “ Go therefore and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father and the Son and the Holy
Spirit

• “ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and
the love of God and the fellowship of the
Holy Spirit be with you all

Bible – the sacred scripture of Christianity
- It is the collection of songs ,
stories,poetry, letters, history as well as
literature.
- composed of two books: Old
testament and New testament

Old Testament –considered the
original Hebrew Bible – written between
1200 and 165 B.C.E.
New Testament – written by Christians
around 100 C. E.

Old Testament – also called as Hebrew
Bible
- composed of 39 books which are
arranged in three parts: the first five books
( Genesis – Deutoronomy) are considered
“ The Law” or Torah which may refer to
guidance or instruction.

The prophets – the second book of the old
testament
- divided into two parts: earlier prophets
and latter prophets
Earlier prophet- consider historical
Latter prophet – contain sayings and
stories of the prophets

The Writings – the third part of the old
testament
- includes Psalms ( songs, prayers and
worship lithurgies) Proverbs ( wise
sayings), Job ( a drama that explores the
nature of suffering), and the five scrolls
( Megiloth)

New Testament – composed of 27 books
written around 50 to 100 C. E. and
composed of two sections: The Gospel
which tell the story of Jesus ( Matthew,
Mark, and John) and the Letters
( Epistles), written by various Christian
Leaders to serve as a guide to the early
Christian communities.

They were written to tell the life and
teachings of Jesus
Revelation is the last book of the New
Testament, traditionally attributed to the
apostle John, which is considered an
epistle and an apocalypse

Christianity has certain beliefs and
doctrines that serve as moral guidelines
for its followers

- are set of laws given by God to the
people of Israel at Mt. Sinai through
Moses.

1. Baptism – meant to remove the guilt
and effects of original sin and welcome
the baptized to the church
2. Confirmation – meant to complete
baptism and bring the baptized the
graces of the holy spirit that were
given to the apostles on Pentecost

3. Holy Communion –entails the reception
of Christ’s body and blood which helps
Christians grow in the likeness of Jesus
Christ
4. Confession – is meant to reconcile
Christians with God by confessing their
sins

5. Marriage – the union of a man and a
woman for the purpose of procreation and
mutual support, it also reflects the union
of Jesus Christ with His church
6. Holy Orders – considered the
continuation of Christ’s priesthood which
He passed on to His postles

7. Anointing of the Sick – also known as
Extreme Unction or Last Rites, which
administered to those who are on the
verge of death or are seriously ill, or about
to undergo operation, for physical and
moral strength.

is the kingdom of heaven
2. Blessed are they that mourn: for they
shall be comforted
3. Blessed are the meek: for they shall
inheret the earth
