Question(a): Is this a Formal or informal group?

Rotary international is a formal and Structured


Organization.
Rotary international is divided into districts which are
further subdivided into clubs.
Each rotary club operates within specific geographical
area.
Question(b):What Stage in this group at, in terms of
Tuckman and Jensen's model of Group development?
Rotary international was founded in 1905 by Paul Harris.
The group has been in existence for many years and has a well-
established structure.
It is Primary in the “Performing” stage. This stage is
characterized by high level of cohesion, cooperation and
productivity The group has successfully went through the earlier
stage of forming, storming and norming and reached ate the
Performing stage.
However, the Rotaract club of Metropolitan Rajshahi is at
“Norming” Stage, The members of club are started to resolve their
differences, appreciate one another's strengths and respect the
authorities.
Question(c): what is your groups size, composition,
function and status?
Size and composition
Rotary international is a global organization with 46000
members clubs worldwide with a membership of
1.4million individuals Known as Rotary members.
Among the 46,000 member clubs each club operating in a
specific geographic area containing more than 200
countries.
In Bangladesh there are 582 Rotary clubs with the total of
7545 members also known as Rotarians.
Function
Rotary international is Primarily a service organization dedicated to humanitarian efforts,
community service and the promotion of high ethical Standards in various vocations.
The organization engages in a wide range of projects including those related to
education, healthcare, sanitation, clean water and disaster relief (Rotary’s response to the
1918 flu pandemic)
Status
Rotary international has a well established and respected status at global service
organization.
It is recognized for its commitment to the principles of “Service above self” and the
promotion of goodwill and peace.
Question(d):How do these factors affect its operation
and outcomes?
Leadership
Effective leadership is crucial for the success of rotary club. The President, board members and
committee chairs play key roles in guiding the club's activities.
Membership engagement:
Actively involved members contribute mare to the success of service prosects and community
initiative.
Diversity and inclusion:
A divers e and inclusive membership brings varieties of perspectives and ideas
Community needs assessments: Understanding and addressing the specific needs of the local
community is critical to make significant impact.
Partnership and collaborations: Successful clubs often forms partnership and collaborates with
local organizations, businesses and government entitles for impactful Project’s. ( Rotaract club of
Metropolitan Rajshahi, Padma Rajshahi).

• Assist in decision-making, Preside over meetings in the absence of the president.
