Jehovah's witness
• When was the religion created?
• The sect now known as the Jehovah’s
Witnesses was started by Charles Taze
Russell, who was born in 1852. He
was raised a Congregationalist, but at
the age of 17 he tried to convert an
atheist to Christianity and ended up
being converted instead—not to
outright atheism, but to agnosticism.
Some years later he went to an
Adventist meeting, was told that Jesus
would be back at any time, and got
interested in the Bible.

SPECIFIC BELIEFS
• Witnesses believe in one God, not the Trinity. Like most Christians, they
believe that Jesus Christ died for humankind's sins, and was resurrected after
his crucifixion. One of the key elements of the Jehovah's Witness faith is
their belief that the end of the world is coming soon.

Daily prayers
• an practice, here's how I explain
prayer: We pray to the Father in the name
of the Lord Jesus through the ministry of
the Holy Spirit. However, since Yahweh is
one God manifested in three persons,
praying to Jesus or the Holy Spirit is
perfectly acceptable.

Sacred text
•Jehovah's Witnesses base their beliefs
only on the text of the Bible and ignore
"mere human speculations or religious
creeds." They believe that the Bible is the
Word of God and consider its 66 books to
be divinely inspired and historically
accurate.

USA towards the end of the 19th century,
under the leadership of
Charles Taze Russell. The headquarters
