The New Year's celebration takes place throughout Mexico and is celebrated at home with the
family. But it is also a celebration that takes place around the world.
December 31 is named old year (since it is the year that is leaving) and at 12:00 a.m. starts on
January 1 (which is the new or current year). The New Year lasts the entire first day of January.
The most common purposes are usually to: Exercise, Give up smoking, Learn something new,
Losing weight and dieting, Eat healthy, Get out of debt and save money, Spend more time with
the family, Travel to new places, Feel less stress, Drink less alcohol, To be a better person.,
Clean and renovate the home.
The New Year usually begins to be celebrated on the eve, during the New Year's Eve of December 31,
and lasts all the morning of January 1. Being a festive date, Mexicans take advantage of the day to
spend it with their family.
The New Year is celebrated on January 1 of each year. It is a holiday. On this day, the end of one
cycle and the beginning of a new one are commemorated.

AÑO VIEJO 12:00 A.M. AÑO NUEVO

• What we do in the New Year is that the family gets
together and we all live together, past anecdotes are
told, fireworks are thundered, we eat several
delicious dishes, the children get together and play
games inside or outside the house, and at 12 o'clock
in the morning. Tomorrow we say Happy New
Year !, and each member has 12 grapes, we eat one
by one making a wish that they fulfill in that new
year.
The end of the year parties are always full of delicious dishes that for many are
typical on those dates, such as cod, romeritos, turkey, pork leg in a plum or
tamarind sauce, the traditional fruit punch, fritters, baked potatoes, among
others.
