X is an anime television series produced by Toei Animation. Some of the characters of the
anime derive their names from common food items such as carrot, radish, a type of
cabbage and japanese bread. The creator wanted kids watching the anime to derive the
vegetable from the names of the characters so that they would feel that “vegetables are
cool as well”.

The show X went on to become hugely popular among kids and was ranked “78th best
anime” by IGN and “50th best cartoon in the world” by Wizard’s Magazine.
