1 Corinthians 15:58
Ultimately, we are not serving other people
through our work or our service. As Christians,
we do what we do to honor God. He is the
reason for everything we do, and the motivation
that guides our actions.
By submitting to the Lordship of Jesus
Christ, we acknowledge Him in our work
and service and keep Him at the forefront of
our minds as we go.
4. Your
service is a
sacrifice of
praise
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the
mercies of God, to present your bodies as a
living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God,
which is your spiritual worship.”
Romans 12:1
When we submit to God’s will and seek His
goodness in our lives, we turn our bodies
and our actions over to God as a sacrifice of
praise.
Rather than continuing the blood sacrifices necessary
in the Old Testament, the sacrifice we can present by
the blood of Jesus is a willing heart that is open to
what God has in store for us. This is the truest and
fullest act of worship we can give to our Father.
[58] Therefore, my dear brothers and
sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of
the Lord, because you know that your labor
in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Our part is to simply remain steady in our
service. If we remain faithful to His will and His
way for us, we can be sure to see the elements of
His plans unfold in our lives.
5. Remember that
everything you do
serves God
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the
Lord and not for men, knowing that from
the Lord you will receive the inheritance as
your reward. You are serving the Lord Jesus
Christ.”
Colossians 3:23-24
“a woman came to him with an alabaster jar
of very expensive perfume, which she
poured on his head as he was reclining at
the table.”
Matthew 26:7
“While he was in Bethany, reclining at the
table in the home of Simon the Leper, a
woman came with an alabaster jar of very
expensive perfume, made of pure nard.
Mark 14:3
God values our offering, in the grand scheme a
bottle of perfume is small. But to her it was
costly, and her heart was in the right place.
What mattered to the woman with the alabaster
jar in the Bible wasn’t concerned about what
others would say and think about her actions.
Her heart was focused on her King and she
wanted to worship and honor Him.
Anointing Jesus as the woman with the alabaster
box did was a testament to her great love for
Him. It’s a wonderful reminder of how our love
for Christ should look like.
This story holds a wonderful picture of what a
heart of worship looks like for us, it’s not a show,
it’s not bright lights, or loud music, or trying to
impress but a heart that fully seeks God and
seeks to honor Him.
If anyone serves me, he must follow me;
and where I am, there will my servant be
also. If anyone serves me, the Father will
honor him.
John 12:26
The one who conquers, I will grant him to
sit with me on my throne, as I also
conquered and sat down with my Father on
his throne
Revelation 3:21
This alabaster jar is
all I have of worth
I break it at Your feet, Lord
It's less than You deserve
You're far more beautiful
More precious than the oil
The sum of my desires and
The fullness of my joy
Like You spilled Your blood I
spill my heart
As an offering to my King
Here I am, take me as an
offering
Here I am, giving
Every heartbeat for Your glory
take me
Take me
Here I am, I've come to find You
Here I am, to see Your grace
To bring to You an offering,
I have to ask myself one thing
How can I do anything
but praise, I praise
You, You are God, You are Lord
You are all I'm living for
You are King of everything
I want my life to praise You!
Here I am, I've come to thank You
Here I am, a life You've changed
Because You gave Your life for me, You
crucified Your Son for me
Now how can I do anything but praise, I
praise!
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there
may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the
LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open
the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much
blessing that there will not be room enough to store
it.
Malachi 3:10
Malachi 3:10
Magbigay kayo at kayo'y bibigyan ng
Diyos; hustong takal, siksik, liglig, at
umaapaw pa ang ibibigay sa inyo. Sapagkat
ang panukat na ginagamit ninyo sa iba ay
siya ring gagamiting panukat sa inyo.
