12 Rabi – ul -Awal

What is 12 Rabi-ul-Awal?
Eid Milad- un –Nabi is also known as Prophet Mohmmad’s
birthday . It is a public holiday in Pakistan . Sunni Muslims
observe Milad -un-Nabi on 12 Rubi-ul-Awal while Shia
Muslims observe it on 17 Rabi – ul –Awal , conciding with
the birthdate of their sixth Imam Jafar-al-Sadiq. Also Rubi-ul-
Awal is the third month in Islamic calendar and Prophet
Mohmmad (PBUH) lives in the heart of every muslim.

Why do we celebrate 12 Rubi-ul-Awal?


People on this occasion distribute sweets and food among
poors to make them part of their celebrations. Another
purpose of celebrating this event is to give the world a
message that, Islam is a religion of peace. This is the teaching
of our beloved Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
