COMPUTERS
INTRODUCTION

WHAT IS COMPUTER?
 Computer is a electronic device that usually takes
raw data as an input and process the data and
displays the output.
 Present there are five generatins for computer. Now a
days the technology is very developed.
GENERATIONS OF COMPUTERS

• There are five generations

FIRST GENERATION [1940-1956] VACCUMTUBES:

 Vaccum tubes are used in the first generation
computer. Vaccum tubes are used to magnetic drums
in memory. This computers usually occupies more
space in the room. They require a large supply of
electric poewr. The heat emission is very high.
SECOND GENERATION [1957-1963]TANSISTORS

 Transistors are replace the vaccum tubes of first

generation. Usually,Transistor are discovered in 1947.
Usage of transistor made second generation
computer, more reliable, fast and more efficient.
THIRD GENERATION [1957-1963]
INTEGRATED CIRCUITS

 The third generation is the hall Mark of computer

generations . The integrated circuits are maintained
and placed over small chips called semiconductors
which makes third generation computer more
reliable and accessible.
FOURTH GENERATION [1971-PRESENT]
MICRO PROCESSORS

 Fourth generation computer uses micro processor. A

large number of integrated circuits are chipped over
a small chip.Usually, first generation computer
occupy a room space but this are capable to fit in a
palm size. It marks accessing data more faster
FIFTH GENERATION[BEYOND-PRESENT]
ARTIFICIAL

 The fifth generation of compter are artificial

intelligence which is under development and
developed with more features. The main aim of
artificial intelligence is to produce information.
INPUT DEVICES

 Key board
 Mouse
 Barcode scanner
 QR reader
 Touch screen
OUTPUT DEVICES
 Display
 Monitor
 LED display
 Screen
CONCLUSION

• Hence the detailed of the computer are studied
