PLANNING AND PREPARING LESSONS I

MARTHA TERESA MONTAÑO ORTIZ

CLEAR
Lesson plans must have clear aims because they provide a
direction for teachers and ensure that learning outcomes are
achieved. Clear aims help teachers determine which activities and
assessments are appropriate for the lesson, ensuring that there is
alignment between what is taught and how it is assessed, also help
teachers design lessons that are engaging and interesting for
students, building their attention and interest in the classroom.
Additionally, clear aims allow for effective pre-assessment, helping
teachers determine the appropriateness of the lesson and make
necessary adjustments to meet the needs of individual students. It
is important to strike a balance between measurable outcomes and
the more creative and spontaneous aspects of learning.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN AIM AND A
PROCEDURE
Aims are general statements that A procedure explains how you want

intention to act. Aims identify targets teacher's job to explain it clearly.

what the teacher might do.
STARTING POINT FOR ALL PLANNING

The first and most crucial step in the planning process is to determine what must
be achieved during the planning period, that is, defining the objective(s).
REASON FOR STATING AIMS CLEARLY

Establishing clear objectives is an essential practice

for the success of any planning. Clear objectives
provide clear direction and purpose, allowing
teachers and students to work together towards a
common goal, which is the achievement of expected
learning.
MEANING OF TIMETABLE FIT

Timetables fit provide details of the lessons they will teach in the near future, it is
about how a lesson fits logically into the sequence of lessons in a timetable.
An example is lesson where learners talk about their last holiday goes after a
lesson in which the past simple was presented and before a lesson where
learners write about their last holiday.
