What is population composition of village palampur

Palampur has about 450 families belonging


to different castes. There are 80 upper caste
families which own the majority of the land
in the village

Village Palampur has fairly well


developed systems of roads as it is
connected with neighboring villages as
well as towns.
Irrigation development

With the help of electricity , farmers used modern


machinery like tractors , harvesters etc for farming .
Farmers also used modern types of seeds. Palampur
had a well developed system of irrigation.
There are three irrigation system
used in the village Palampur.
RAIN

Rain is one of the most common


naturally occuring sources of irrigation,
and is not limited. The land under
cultivation in palampur must be
dependent on rainfall, which serves as
an important source of irrigation.
TUBE WELLS
Tube wells – With the advent of green
revolution in 1960s, electrically powered
tube wells were installed , which
efficiently irrigated the land in Palampur
and were one of the modern farming
techniques. Thus tube wells are important
sources because they pump water from
the water table beneath the surface.
DAMS
Dams – Dams create resorvoirs that
not only suppress floods but also
provide water for irrigation , so dams
are an important source of irrigation in
Palampur.
SCHOOLING SYSTEM IN PALAMPUR

Palampur has two primary schools and one


high school. There is a primary heallth
centre run by the government and one
private dispensary where the sick are
treated.
