PARAGRAPH FROM WHICH THE
INFORMATION IS EXTRACTED
• In order to answer the question ‘why a holiday is needed’ as a social policy tool, perhaps it is necessary
to consider why a holiday as opposed to any other sort of assistance. For example, when taken
individually, many of the issues affecting disadvantaged families could be tackled through other forms of
policy provision. The case made by this paper is that social and mental health policies for example are
often taken in isolation by discrete service providers whereas families problems are very often multiple,
complex, inter-related and thus require a more ‘wide-scope consideration’. A holiday offers the chance
for a break from many of the challenging circumstances in which families find themselves, offering a
fresh perspective, sometimes opening up new ways to live, which may have a lasting impact.
FINAL RESPONSE:

• I think and ideal way of spending a holiday is take a holiday with a

person who you want to pass that time togueter. The reason is
because spending a holiday have some advantages in our life
explained by McCabe’s article on Annals of Tourism Research, where
he said that a holiday offers the chance for a break, offering a fresh
perspective, sometimes opening up new ways to live, which may have
a lasting impact (McCabe, 2009). In conclusion, the best way of
spending a holiday is with your favorite person in order to have the
benefits explained by McCabe.
