Ways to Build a

Stronger Spiritual Life

1. Be a river, not a
swamp.
Rivers of living water will
flow from the heart of
those who believe in me.
John 7:38.
As Christian:
-We are to let blessings flow
through and on to others. When
we hoard and dam the blessings in
our lives we are in danger of
becoming spiritually stagnant,
emotionally detached, and
intellectually cynical.
Resolve to break up the dam
and let blessings flow like a
river. The freshness of blessing
is in the flow.
2. Identify a blessing.
 One week ispiritual exercise:
Day 1. Bendisyon nga naggapu kadagiti miyembro iti
pamilya
Day 2. Bendisyon nga aggapu iti karrubam
Day 3. Bendisyon nga aggapu iti gayyem mo.
Day 4. Bendisyon nga aggapu iti kadagiti katrabahom.
Day 5. Bendisyon nga aggapu iti dim am ammo nga tao.
Day 6. Bendisyon nga aggapu iti ubing/ubbing.
Day 7. Bendisyon nga aggapu iti iti kabusor mo.
3. Be like Moses-
speak words of
blessings.
Speak words of blessings.
May the Lord bless and protect
you.
May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his
favor and give you his peace.
Numbers 6:24-26
Watch our
words.
Agbalin tayo nga:
-creative/malikhain ken naannad kadagiti
sasao,
-agsao tayo kadagiti balikas nga mangitag-ay,
-mang-encourage/mangted ti karit,
- mangparagsak,
- mangted iti kinabang-ar ken
Be a blessing in
words and deeds.
4. Nurture a shared
prayer life.
Praying together.
Prayer is the best way
to communicate with
God.
But truly God has
listened; He has
attended to the voice of
prayer.
Psalm 66:19
Then you will call upon
me and come and pray to
me, and I will listen to
you.
JeremiaH 29:12
•Banag nga mabalin nga aramiden
tayo iti panagkarkararag:
a. Letting friends know that you
are always available for prayer.
b. Attending regular held prayer
groups.
5. Take a step of
faith.
Spiritual growth
means taking a
leap of faith from
time to time.
Follow God’s leading and allow the plan to evolve.
•This means, taking a step of faith and trusting God
to provide what may be needed for success.
• Maaddaan ka iti panagtalek kin Apo nga ited na
iti anyaman nga kasapulam para iti panagbilligim.
• Have faith, huwag kang mag-alinlangan.
• Advanced your thinking. (sakbayam ti
panagpanpanunot mo,) but not to the extent that
you expect for much.
When God says do it,
He’s already planned the
resources we need to
accomplish the task.
6. Restore someone’s
faith.
A wounded heart.
-Make time to heal a wounded
heart.
-Extend kindness to someone
who really needs a friend or to
help gather up pieces of a
broken dreams.
Today, do whatever
you can do to radiate
GOD’s unconditional
LOVE.

7. Be a greatful
person.
• To help you be a grateful person, here are 10 simple tips you can do:
1. Realize how rich you are.
2. Realize what a healthy and prosperous life you have
3. Realize what a blessing it is to live in peace
4. Open your eyes to see the good things in your life
5. Maintain a “good things”.
6. Understand that there are positive things behind all the bad things that
happen
7. Have a special session of gratitude
8. Meet positive people
9. Focus on giving
10. Decide to be a grateful person
Being greatful is being a good person.
• 1 CORINTHIANS 15:33
“Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good
character.’”
Often times a good person is torn down by
hanging with the wrong crowd. Even if you were
raised to be a “good person,” the more you venture
away from the values you have been taught, the
easier it will be for you to shed them for something
else.
Being greatful is loving your enemies.

•Luke 6:35
35
But love your enemies, do good to them,
and lend to them without expecting to get
anything back. Then your reward will be gr
eat, and you will be children of the Most Hi
Hebrews 13:1616
And do not forget to do good and to sh
are with others, for with such sacrifices
God is pleased.
8. Share the journey.

Sharing time with fellow Christians.

Care others by sharing what you have.
-time
-m -money/goods
-etc
Hook up with one other person
who is seeking to grow
spiritually.
The idea of community comes from the
sense of responsibility we have for each
other. In the Bible, God encourages us to
take care of our brethren while following
the word of the Lord. We must remember
the importance of maintaining the
connection with our fellow man.
10
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, i
n the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, t
hat all of you agree with one another i
n what you say and that there be no di
visions among you, but that you be pe
rfectly united in mind and thought.
9. Serve.
Serve
-God
-men.
Look for ways to serve the
community, especially
tasks that promise no
reward, such as picking up
litter on the streets.
10. Cultivate a
little solitude.
solitude

•-the state or situation

of being alone
Spend some time away
from the crowd and the noise
of life. Set aside a few minutes
to be alone-just you and God.
In quietness we turn our minds
away from the problems of life
and fix our thoughts on the
mind of God.
Meditation is not a process of the mind,
but of the spirit.
10. Fast and pray.
Ezra 8:23 stated: “So we fasted and
earnestly prayed that our God would take care
of us, and he heard our prayer.”

The next time you are asked to pray urgently

for someone in difficulty, consider combining
your praying with some fasting.
Prayer and fasting is
defined as voluntarily going
without food in order to
focus on prayer and
fellowship with God.
If we are asking for
something that is not honoring to
God or not God's will for our lives,
God will not give what we ask for,
whether we fast or not.
1. Moses fasted during the 40 days and
40 nights he was on Mount Sinai
receiving the law from God (Exodus
34:28).
2. King Jehoshaphat called for a fast in
all Israel when they were about to be
attacked by the Moabites and
Ammonites (2 Chronicles 20:3).
12. Turn your worries
over God.
God knows problems
and worries that are
inevitable in this life.
“Cast your cares on the LORD and
he will sustain you; he will never
let the righteous fall”
(Psalm 55:22),
“Cast all your anxiety on him
because he cares for you”
(1 Peter 5:7).
God will sustain us,
He will never let us fall,
and
He cares for us.
“Give your burdens to the
Lord, and he will take care
of you”
(Psalm 55:22).

13. Spread love
wherever you go
Be the living expression of God’s
kindness;
•kindness in your face,
• kindness in your eyes,
• kindness in your smile,
•kindness in your warm greeting.
And so we know and
rely on the love God has for us. God is love.
Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God
in them. -1 John 4:16 (NIV)
We love because He first loved us. -1 John
4:19 (NIV)
14. Keep your priorities straight.

PRIORITIES
•What are your
priorities in life?
Know what is
ultimately important
and what is not.
15. Strive for
excellence.
Excellence is achieved when
we glorify God in our work.
The Bible tells us:
“Whatever you do, do well”
(Ecclesiastes 9:10).
Be the best that you can be at
whatever station in life God
has placed you.
Instead of seeking self-glorification, we
seek to glorify God;
instead of working for man’s praise, we
boast in the name of the Lord.
God Himself promises us that if we seek
first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these will be given to us as well. (
Matthew 6:33)
We are working for the glory
of God.
-for the kingdom of God
16. Use it or lose it.
God has generously endowed
each of us with unique gifts
and talents.
-discover
-use it
Make use of them
or
you will run the risk
of losing them.

•Matthew 25:13-40 Parable of talents

 Sir Edwin Arnold a ninteenth-century poet.

 “Useyour gifts faithfully, and

they shall be enlarged;
practice what you know, and
you shall attain to higher
knowledge,”
17. Be Reliable
•Ifyou had to pick 3 reliable
people in your life who would
they be?

•It is hard to put our trust into

many people's hands.
•Reliable people are the kind of people you
can count on no matter what.
• They will be there for your ups and your
downs. These are the people who are most
worthy of your trust. It is crucial to have
at least one person in our lives that we can
fully trust. You need that one person you
can vent to at all times.
•One person you can
always TRUST is the
LORD, He will always be
by your side!
18. Ask God to make you
a blessing today
and everyday
Kunana ajay kanta:
Make me a blessing Lord
Make me a blessing Lord
I know that I’m not worthy
To become your servant Lord
So behold me
That I might be
My life a blessing (A blessing
•A great way to grow in wonder and
amazement is by asking God to turn your life
into a blessing.
• Do this each morning before resuming your
daily activities. Offer a short, simple prayer
like this one: “Dear God, on this day make my
life a blessing to someone, somewhere.”
Then pay close attention to every person you
encounter during the day, as God will honor
your prayer, sometimes in surprising ways.
