Resistance

Group 6
Resistance in a Wire (colorado.edu)
Questions:
1. How does the length of wire affect its resistance? (Charrise)
2. How does the resistivity of wire affect its resistance? (Laura)
3. How does the cross-sectional area of wire affect its resistance? (Albert, Nelson)
4. Make a conclusion (Yoel, Ivander)
1. How does the length
of wire affect its
resistance?

Resistance is directly
proportional to the length of
a wire. The longer the wire
the higher the amount of
resistance to an electrical
current.
3. How does the cross-sectional area of
wire affect its resistance?
 Area is inversely proportional to resistance. So, the bigger the area,
the smaller the resistance (vice versa)
How does the
resistivity of
wire affect
its resistance
The Greater the resistivity,
the higher the resistance so
it is directly proportional
CONCLUSION
The length of a wire and its resistivity is direct proportional to the
resistance while the cross-sectional area (are) is inverse
proportional to the resistance. From the simulation also we could
get the formula to count the resistance
