2022 CLEAN UP DRIVE
GRADE 9

Republic Act No. 1592, ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

EDUCATION ACT states that the department of education shall
integrate environmental education in its school curricula at all
levels. Environmental education shall encompass environmental
concepts and principles, environmental laws, the state of
international and local environment, local environmental best
practices, the threats of environmental degradation and its impact
to human well-being, the responsibility of the citizenry to the
environment and the value of conservation, protection and
rehabilitation of natural resources and the environment in the
context of sustainable development.
Libon Agro-Industrial High School as one of the best Brigada
Eskwela implementer in Albay, strongly adhere to this act for the benefit
of the learners, teachers and stakeholders. our school has to make sure
that a clean, safe and conducive learning environment has given to the
students, Thus, Clean Up Drive was initiated on August 17, 2022 at the
LAIHS ground with the support of the very active School Principal, Mrs.
Cherry Satorre, Grade 9 advisers and teachers headed by Ms. Jenica
Mirabueno, Grade 9 level Chairman, and the very supportive parents.
The participants were reminded of the basic health protocol
before entering the school grounds. They were also advised to wear
face mask, have their temperature checked and their contact details be
on the record for contact tracing. They were also reminded of the proper
solid waste management and disposal.
After all these stuffs, the participants worked hand-in-hand
picking up everything not necessary on the ground, sweeping up dried
leaves and pruning plants and trees. Some parents helped in cleaning
the classroom, repairing the chairs and tables. They started the work
from 8:00 AM and ended up 4:00 PM.
This remarkable effort symbolizes the importance of
partnership and cooperation in creating a better environment for the
learners.
