    Hierarchical regression is a statistical technique where control variables are entered into a first model, and then predictor variables of interest are added in a second model to determine if they explain additional variance after accounting for the control variables. This example uses hierarchical regression to first control for demographic variables in Model 1, and then adds other predictor variables to Model 2 to see if they significantly improve prediction of the dependent variable above and beyond the control variables.
