To be an effective writer, one must
possess the traits required to meet the
expectations of his/her readers. To be an
effective technical writer, he/she must possess
more than those traits of an ordinary or
mediocre writer. He/she must be aware of
scientific phenomena and must own a wealth of
technical terminology, not merely layman’s
terms.
The qualities to be an effective technical writer is written in the form of acrostic.
T - Technology-Driven
- Keeps abreast with technological advances.
E - Effectual
- Produces the desired result.
C - Curious
- Desirous to learn about different things.
H - Honest
- Tells the truth and does resort to learn about different things.
N - Neutral
- Objective, impartial, and free from bias.
I - Intelligent
- Uses his/her wit.
C - Careful
- Takes pain in doing his/her work.
A - Active
- Displays tireless energy during the course of his/her writing.
L - Logical
- Applies the principle of logic in his/her writing.
The qualities to be an effective technical writer is written in the form of acrostic.
W - Workmanly
- Skillful in writing.
R - Resourceful
- Makes use of primary (primary, organizations, plants and animals,
artifacts, documents, etc.) sources of information.
I - Interesting
- Arises the interest of his/her reader.
T - Thorough
- Come s up with a complete work.
E - Ethical
- Conforms with the code of professional ethics.
R - Responsible
- Does his/her work well and without any prodding from others.
