The 7 great destructive sins according to
Hadith.
By:
Muhammad Umar Year-10B
“The Prophet ﷺsaid, Avoid the 7 great destructive sins. The people said, “O Messenger of Allah, what
are they?” The Prophet said, “Idolatry with Allah, occult magic, killing a soul that Allah has
sanctified except for a just cause, consuming usury, usurping the property of an orphan,
fleeing the battlefield, and accusing chaste but unwary believing women.”
“Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or a corruption [done] in the land it is as if he had slain
mankind entirely.” [Al-Mā’idah: Verse 32]
Consuming Interest(Riba)
Accepting/giving Riba both highly punished.
Riba is a way of robbing the poor to make the rich richer, which leads to a
world of economic injustice.
Both human life & the wealth they possess are blessed in Islam so should be
protected from financial manipulation.
The Quran thus directs them to genuine trade where risk is shared.
Usurping An Orphan’s Property
Prohibited to use the orphan's money except for the
need/benefit of the orphan.
If the trustee is poor, then a moderate amount of money
could be used for essentials (effort for taking care the
child); If the trustee is rich, then it's not allowed at all to
use the orphan's money (due to the vulnerable position
of orphan in society).
